This weekend at Comedy Heights at Lestat’s on Adams Ave. San Diego’s Godfather of Comedy, Tony Calabrese, returns with the hilarious Jim Billingsley, Jessica McGrath, Matt Kempner(Fri), Raghu Adibhatla(Sat) and host Rachel Lloyd.
A native San Diegan, Tony Calabrese has been performing comedy since 1995, specializing in corporate events and as a master of ceremonies and auctioneer for charity benefits. He has been married for 47 years, in a row, and has two grown sons and three grandchildren. He talks about life, world events, marriage, kids, grandkids, the corporate world, and the trials and tribulations of not staying in top physical condition. Tony spent 36 years as a banker in San Diego and is the former President and CEO of not one but two banks. That’s right Bank President turned Comedian. His unique view of the business world makes him the perfect entertainer for corporate events. Tony has performed at The Comedy Store, The Madhouse Comedy Club, The Improv, Flappers, The Mic Drop and other San Diego and L.A. clubs and venues. Tony won the “Ultimate Laff-Down” at Flappers Comedy Club and is a two time semi finalist in the World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas. His Dry Bar Comedy Special was released last year and can be seen on Drybarcomedy.com.
Jim Billingsley is from Fresno California and is an expert in Yahtzee. He’s also an excellent parallel parker. Jim started out at the Comedy Store and has been performing for 30 plus years at comedy clubs and venues all over California. Audiences love his Andy of Mayberry (Fresno) demeanor and his clean comedy style.
