Matt Duckett is a comedian and writer who uses his biracial background to fuel his humor and perspective on the world. His comedy covers everything from his upbringing in a “post-racial” society to an ill-advised law school stint, for which he is still in debt. Matt’s videos have garnered over 1.5 million likes on TikTok, where he has over 45K followers. He performs at prestigious clubs such as the Hollywood Improv and the Comedy Store. Matt also appears at comedy festivals across the country, most recently at the Riot Comedy Fest in Houston and the Rise Festival in Denver.
Sam Skolnik is a comedian, writer, actor and filmmaker. He studied Television, Film and New Media at San Diego State University where he won a best screenwriting in a student film at the San Diego Fall Film Festival as well as the coveted Wally! Award for his short films. During his studies, Sam focused on screenwriting and directing as well as performing both on screen and stage–acting in student films and performing with SDSU’s improv group, Iota Eta Pi. Sam moved to New York out of college to work on shows such as MTV2’s Joking Off and rap battle Nick Cannon on MTV’s Wild’n Out LIVE. He performed stand up throughout NYC and studies sketch/improv at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Training Center. However, he has now returned to Southern California to good ol’ Los Angeles were he continues to write, perform and create. Finally, he hopes this bio isn’t as pretentious as it feels while he’s writing it.
Joining Matt and Sam this week are Erasmo Ramos, Ben Yin, Johnny Bello and Al Gavi. Show time for both shows is 8pm with the doors opening at 7:30pm. $5 cover converts to same day cafe credit.
