Comedy Heights at Lestat’s on Adams Kept It Loose, Sharp and Funny This Weekend

This past weekend at Comedy Heights, Colton Harpie brought a strong headlining presence to Lestat’s and helped give both Friday and Saturday shows a smart, energetic feel. Harpie has the kind of stage presence that makes a room settle in quickly. He came across confident without pushing, relaxed without ever losing momentum, and that set the tone for the rest of the night. His material and delivery gave the weekend a polished center, while still leaving plenty of room for the rest of the lineup to make their own mark. Victoria Parra, Shane Chase and Al Gavi helped round out the shows with a mix of perspectives and styles that kept things moving. That’s part of what made the weekend work so well—no one comic felt like they were doing the same thing as the last one. Each set brought a different rhythm, which gave the audience a full night of comedy rather than just variations on one voice. What stood out most was the balance of the weekend. The shows felt relaxed but never flat, lively but never chaotic. It had that ideal Comedy Heights combination: a welcoming room, a lineup with variety, and enough unexpected moments to keep the crowd engaged all the way through.

Another good weekend at Lestat’s—and another reminder that Comedy Heights continues to be one of the most reliably fun ways to spend a Friday or Saturday night on Adams Avenue.
