This past weekend, Comedy Heights brought another strong two-night run to Lestat’s, with a lineup that had plenty of contrast, personality, and room-shaking laughs. Pippa Spindel and Mazdak Momen gave the weekend a great one-two punch. Pippa brought a bright, animated energy that grabbed the room right away, mixing charm with sharp comic instincts. Mazdak balanced that with a confident, grounded stage presence and a style that let the jokes build naturally, pulling the audience in before landing the punch. The weekend also featured a strong supporting lineup. Don Lacy and Al Gavi helped make Friday night feel full and fast-moving, while Dane Anthony, Julia Li and Chrisy Castriota added their own flavor to Saturday’s show. Each comic brought something different, which kept the audience engaged instead of feeling like they were watching the same type of act over and over.
What stood out most was how comfortable the room felt. Lestat’s has that up-close Comedy Heights feel where the audience is part of the show, not just watching from a distance. When a joke hit, it hit the whole room. When a comic played with a moment, the crowd went with them. It was another reminder that Comedy Heights doesn’t need a big production to deliver a great night out. Just a good lineup, a loyal crowd, and comics who know how to make a coffeehouse feel like the place to be. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported live comedy in Normal Heights. Comedy Heights continues every Friday and Saturday at 8pm at Lestat’s.
