Comedy Heights Weekend Review

This past weekend, Comedy Heights had one of those lineups that reminded people why live comedy works best in a room like Lestat’s — close enough to hear every pause, every sideways thought, and every laugh that sneaks up on you. Matt Coffern, Victor Paz Jr., and Andy Rider gave the weekend three completely different flavors of funny. Matt brought big energy and a fearless stage presence, Victor Paz Jr. worked the room with his sharp timing and natural charisma, and Andy Rider delivered the kind of offbeat, memorable comedy that sticks with you after the show is over. The supporting comics kept both nights moving with their own strong voices. Jude Merkel brought a smart, confident set on Friday, while Gretchen Dee added a fresh spark to Saturday’s show. Al Gavi rounded out the weekend with solid laughs and a fun presence that fit right into the Comedy Heights rhythm.

What made this weekend stand out wasn’t just the lineup. It was the mix. No two comics felt the same. Every set had its own personality, and that gave the audience a full night instead of one repeated style of joke. That’s the fun of Comedy Heights: you never know exactly what kind of show you’re going to get, but you know it’s going to feel alive. Big thanks to everyone who came out to support live local comedy at Lestat’s. Comedy Heights continues every Friday and Saturday at 8pm, proving once again that you don’t need a giant theater to have a great comedy night.
