Jam packed weekend of funny at Comedy Heights at Lestat’s on Adams Ave.

We’ve got two talent loaded shows this Friday and Saturday night at Comedy Heights at Lestat’s on Adams Ave.  Jay Hewlett, Steph Clark, John Liu and Alfred Konuwa, all headliners in there on right are on both shows with Al Gavi and guest host Kristy Guy.  Show time for both shows is 8pm with the doors opening at 7:30pm. $5 cover converts to same day cafe credit.

Jay Hewlett has appeared on Comic View on BET, Comedy Central, Showtime, the Boston Comedy Festival, the Sundance and Cannes Film Festivals, the Sunscreen & AOF Film Festivals. He headlines regularly in Los Angeles at the Irvine Improv, the Brea Improv as well as clubs and colleges across the country, yet still makes time to entertain the troops on tour with Armed Forces Entertainment. You may have also seen him on the Showtime Comedy Club Network, as Phil the Photographer, on NBC’s California Dreams, in Touchstone Pictures Krippendorf’s Tribe, the critically acclaimed independent movie Mexican Sky, and in Fox Searchlight’s The Act with Debra Jo Rupp of That 70s Show. In 2016, Jay starred as NSA Special Agent Malcolm Evans, in the Largo Films presentation Dead Americans and as The Doctor with Steven Bauer in Delsin. A regular on MyNetwork TV with Arsenio Hall and the Damage Control Comedy Crew, Jay is currently the co-host of the cooking, comedy & travel show Road Kills. In 2018, he co-produced the award-winning feature film Krieg.

Steph Clark is a LA native comedian, actor, and writer. Clarks’ comedy style is self deprecating and centers on everyday life with a twist of sarcastic absurdity. She has been featured in the Huffington Post, Westside Comedy Festival in Los Angeles, Lady Laughs Comedy Festival in Madison, Bellflower Comedy Festival in Los Angeles, Black Sheep  Alaska Tour, KMA Hawaii Tour, and more.  Calabasas Lifestyle Magazine did a piece on Clark for her stand-up and work with nonprofits. Clark received a Master’s degree in creative writing, which makes her comedy choices on screen and on stage fiercely funny.

John Liu is a Filipino-Chinese Stand-Up Comedian based in Southern California. With his sharp wit and unique perspective, John’s comedy centers around growing up with a multi-cultural background, being a first-generation immigrant, and dealing with the ever-changing American zeitgeist. The son of a psychiatrist and real estate agent, John has always had a lot on his mind.  He has performed across the country and internationally in Taiwan and the Philippines. John has performed at every Improv and Levity Live in California, the Bergamot Comedy Festival, Loons On The Lake, Asian Comedy Festival, and more. John won 2nd place at the 21st US Comedy Contest by Golden Artists Entertainment. When not on stage, John is an avid food vlogger and volunteers at his local animal shelter.

Alfred Konuwa is a stand-up comedian and writer who is frequently published and broadcasted on Forbes as well as Bleacher Report. In 2019, he showcased for StandUp NBC and has made a multiple appearances on NPR as a featured guest of Weekend Edition and Here and Now. With an infectious, high-energy style that is both crowd-pleasing and edgy, Konuwa tackles a myriad of issues with a uniquely absurd perspective to deliver a refreshing viewpoint that simultaneously challenges and entertains audiences. Konuwa has performed in comedy clubs and venues in Alaska, Austin, Texas and throughout Southern California in venues such as The Comedy Store, The icehouse, The Haha Comedy Club and The Comedy Palace.
