Two great shows this weekend with headliner Will Burkart at Comedy Heights at Bay Bridge Brewing and Twiggs.

Will Burkart is an LA based comedian who has performed at The Hollywood Improv, Irvine Improv, Cobb’s Comedy Club, and Comedy Store La Jolla. Will grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and launched his stand-up career in Chicago while training at Second City for improv and acting. Will performs regularly throughout SoCal and brings his own brand of infectious storytelling to the stage.

The feature comedian Joining Will on Friday is Diya Basrai. Diya Basrai is a comic originally from San Diego, California, and he began performing stand-up comedy as a freshman in college. Since then he has opened for comics such as Joel Kim Booster and Taylor Tomlinson, and upon graduating self-produced and recorded a half hour comedy special called “Diya Basrai’s Jokes From College.”

Saturday night’s feature is the hilarious Jason Cheny. Born and raised in Taiwan, re-raised in America, and soiled in a military school. Jason brings nuances of life from multiple perspectives, visceral comedic stories of an understanding that happiness happens outside of your comfort zone. Because of his cross-cultural upbringing, his material reaches a wide range of audiences. With keen observations of heritage delivered through energetic wit, Jason’s anecdotes about family, culture, and society, rings with an optimistic vigor. Notably, Jason is the winner of The World Series of Comedy main event in Las Vegas, was apart of the prestigious Boston Comedy Festival, appeared on ‘Laughs’ on Fox and Hulu, ‘Laff Tracks’ on TruTV. He regularly tours across the US, and back in Asia .

In addition to Will, Diya and Jason we have Kash Habib, Carol Johson, Tarikh Joseph (Friday only) and our own Al Gavi. Friday night’s show at Bay Bridge Brewing starts at 8pm with the doors opening at 3pm for great brews and food. Saturday’s show at Twiggs starts at 8pm with the doors opening at 7:30pm. Get there early because the show will be standing room only and parking is a challenge.
